Gobuntu
I just installed Gobuntu in a VM. If you are not familiar with Gobuntu, it is a “flavor” of Ubuntu with a focus on free software. According to Mark Shuttleworth’s blog, it is a “…freedom-focused flavour of Ubuntu.” “The goal is to provide a cleaner and easier to maintain base for projects like gNewSense.”
Anything that is not modifiable or redistributable is removed. For those of you who do not want to use restricted drivers and software, but want to use Ubuntu, you make want to take a look at this distribution. Currently, there are daily builds you can download until the software is finalized. If you browse to http://gobuntu.org, currently it redirects you to http://ubuntu.com.
It took 17 minutes to install from yesterday’s ISO. It is the most current ISO and yesterday was my birthday!
