Vista SP1
Believe me, it will take an hour. Once I downloaded Vista SP1, I clicked on the install and left for the day. When I got back to the office the next day, my computer looked the same as I had left, with the exception of the install screen for SP1. I wanted to make sure that SP1 installed, so I right-clicked Computer and chose Properties. This is what I saw on the screen.
One of the issues I had been experiencing was slow file copying to and from network drives. A lot of times, I just copied large files to a flash drive and then moved it to the server on my MacBook. Moving large directories was a nightmare. The first thing I did after I verified I was running Sp1 was to move some files to the server. Below is the result.
Before SP1, this would have taken about a half hour. I believe it was actually less than five minutes to transfer the files.
So far, the system has been stable and I have not experienced any issues (knocking on wood).

I’m embarrassed to admit that I have not tried Vista at all, even on someone else’s PC. This past Saturday I helped my brother purchase a new laptop, and of course it has Vista on it. To be honest, I’ve heard so much bad vibes on the OS, I’m not anxious at all to run it. I hope you post some overall impressions of SP1 after you’ve used it for awhile.
