Beginning with the 2011-12 school year, opening day on August 23, 2011, students attending Logan Elm will have new starting and ending times as listed below:

The changes in the school day schedule allow for:

• Teacher planning time prior to student arrival, which maximizes teacher-student contact time during the school day and reduces costs of personnel
• Building-wide common planning time for teachers to collaborate, analyze student data and plan for intervention
• Elimination of the 1 hour delayed start once per month
• A larger window of time to evaluate road conditions during bad weather, with the potential of using fewer calamity days and maximizing instructional time.
