Ø            Minutes of Regular Meeting -August 11, 2003    

 

Ø            The financial reports, reconciliations, and investments as presented.

 

Ø            The following advances from the General Fund:

                  $43,203.68 to the Permanent Improvement Fund

                  $12,894.12 to Title II-A

           

Ø            Deleting the following items from inventory:

Ø            Accepting a $5,000 donation from the Logan Elm Athletic Boosters to the Athletic Department.

 

Ø            A $50 increase to the McDowell Lunchroom Change Fund.

 

Ø            The 2003-04 Purpose Statements and Budgets as presented.

 

Ø            Permanent appropriations for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003.

 

Ø            The monthly spending plan as presented.

 

Ø            The five-year forecast as presented.

 

Ø            A contract with PICCA for transporting special needs students to various locations as required for the 2003-04 school year.

 

Ø            Entering into tuition/excess cost agreements with the following school districts for the purpose of children attending special education programs:

                           Columbus City

                           Children’s Center for Developmental Enrichment

                           Circleville City

                           Westfall Local

                           Franklin County MRDD

                           Brooks-Yates – Pickaway County MRDD

                           Pickaway County ESC

 

Ø            Entering into a contract with the Hocking-Athens-Perry County Community Action for the purpose of supplying repair and maintenance to HAPCAP school buses on an “as needed basis” for the period July 1, 2003 to July 1, 2006.

 

Ø            Entering into an agreement with the Pickaway County Sheriff to provide 17 weeks of D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) for 6th grade students for the 2003-04 school year at a cost of $4,000 to be paid from the Drug Free Schools grant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Approved Continued

Ø            The following change orders to the federal emergency repair grant for the Pickaway Elementary School Heating System Replacement Project:

§         $6100 to Caloric Mechanical Inc. for the installation of additional isolation valves

§         $3275 to Claypool Electric for relocating electrical connections

§         $3500 to Angle Welding for manufacturing and installation of metal stair in mechanical room.

§         $30,160 for contingencies (remediation of unknown and unforeseen conditions from work encountered as certified and approved by all parties)

 

Ø            Entering into an agreement with the Hocking County Board of MRDD for “behavioral support services” for the 2003-04 school year.

 

Ø            A trip for the Logan Elm FFA to Louisville, Kentucky October 28-November 1, 2003 for the National FFA Convention at no cost to the Board of Education.

 

Ø            Entering into an agreement with Music Therapy Services (Kenna Hudgins) for special needs students as needed for the 2003-04 school year at $40.00 per hour.

           

Ø            Employing the following personnel on one (1) year teaching contracts for the 2003-04 school year, pending BCI clearance, salary per the negotiated agreement:

                  Tricia Crawford                       Elementary Art

 

Ø            Accepting the following resignations:

         Lisa Hoyt – from her supplemental contract as Junior Naturalist Advisor/Pickaway

                  Tim Williams – from his supplemental contracts as faculty manager (fall) and Department Head (Social Studies)

                  Sue Fulton – classified substitute

                  Kim Peters - cook

 

Ø            Employing the following personnel on one (1) year supplemental contracts for the 2003-04 school year for the positions listed:

                  Jason Beavers                         FCA Advisor

                  Rick Brown                             Department Head – Social Studies

                  Marcy Happeny                       Junior High (8) Student Council

                  Dan Hugus                              Faculty Manager (Fall Season)

Ø            Authorizing the Superintendent to employ Logan Elm staff members as needed to serve as discipline program monitors and homebound instructors for the 2003-04 school year at the negotiated rate.

 

Ø            Employing the following personnel as aides for special needs students on one (1) year classified contracts (No Benefits) for the 2003-04 school year pending BCI clearance.  Hours and days to be determined annually.

Ø            Employing Tracy Martin @ $75.00 per day for proficiency intervention strategies at Salt Creek Elementary for the 2003-04 school year to be paid from grant money.
