Approval of Minutes - Regular Meeting - May 12, 2003
Accepting the following donations:
- $4,000 from the Logan Elm Athletic Boosters to the Athletic Department
- $100 from the Pickaway County Juvenile Court Reclaim Program to L.E.H.S. Renaissance
- $400 from LECTA to the Delong Scholarship Trust
- $400 from LECTA to the Beller Scholarship Trust
- $600 from McDonalds to Boys Basketball
The following advances from the General Fund:
- $1,000 to SIRI Follow-Up 03
A $25,000 transfer from the General Fund to the Permanent Improvement Fund.
The appropriation amendments as presented.
Authorizing the Treasurer to enter into contract with Metropolitan Educational Council Data Center for Fiscal and Student Services.
Enrolling the Board in the Ohio Association of School Business Officials 2004 Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Plan administered by Sheakley Uniservice, Inc.
The creation of the following cost center:

Adopting temporary appropriations effective July 1, 2003, at 25% of fiscal year 2002-03 final appropriations.
Adopting the change and petty cash funds as presented within your packet.
Authorizing the Treasurer to request advances of real and personal property taxes from Pickaway and Hocking County.
Authorizing the Treasurer to pay monthly bills when the following steps have been followed:
1. Purchase requisition approved
2. Purchase order certified by Treasurer
3. Proper invoice received from vendor
Authorizing the Treasurer to transfer funds within appropriations and to make advances, when necessary.
Authorizing the Treasurer to make secure investments.
Authorizing the Treasurer to distribute investment earnings to the following funds based on month-end cash balances:
General Fund
School Food Service Fund
Hitler Estate Trust Fund
Jim Little Scholarship Trust Fund
DeLong Scholarship Trust Fund
Chad Beller Trust Funds
Brian Herron Award Trust Fund
Renee Cavender Award Trust Fund

Insurance premiums effective July 1, 2003.

The Superintendent be named the Purchasing Agent for the 2003-04 school year.
Entering into an agreement with Burges and Burges/Triad Research Inc. to survey the Logan Elm community and develop future goals and strategies for the district.

Entering into an agreement with School Insurance Consultants, LLC to provide analysis, claims management and consultation for fleet, property and liability insurance for 2004.
A “resolution of participation” with the central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center for the 2003-04 school year and authorize John Edgar/designee to serve on the governing Board with Ann Wisnowski Teays Valley as alternate.
Stephen Wastier, as a student teacher from the University of Rio Grande, to student teach the fall semester 2003 at Logan Elm High School.
Membership with Instructional Technology Services of Central Ohio Inc. for the 2003-04 school year for basic services at no cost to the Board of Education.
A letter of intent with the Pickaway County ESC and Franklin County ESC to enter into a contract for the purpose of acquiring federal Medicaid funds (MAC) for special education administrative services.
Entering into a contract with the Ohio School Boards Association for continued update policy service at an annual fee of $500.
Accepting the resignations of the following staff members at the conclusion of the 2002-03 school year:
Shannon McKibben from her supplemental contract as ˝ Technology Coordinator and Junior Naturalist Advisor
Tracy Barnes – from his supplemental contract as FCA Advisor
Bob Stant – for the purpose of retirement effective March 1, 2004
Tom Congrove - from his supplemental contract as 7th grade volleyball coach
Employing Jill Riddle on a two (2) year administrator contract effective August 1, 2003 as Assistant Superintendent (260 days).
Employing the following personnel on one (1) year teaching contracts for the 2003-04 school year, pending receipt of all documents qualifying them for the position:
